Programme for 2009/2010

As a member of Northwich & District Heritage Society you will enjoy free admission to the Society's programme of talks. Non-members are welcome on payment of £1.50 admission fee at the door.

Talks take place at Mid-Cheshire College, Hartford Campus, Chester Road, Northwich at 8:00pm. Plenty of parking and the usual disabled facilties. How to find the College.

Getting There
Buses: There is a bus stop immediately outside the college. For timetable enquiries telephone Northwich Bus Station on 01606 518050.
Train: Greenbank station is an easy 5 minute walk from the College and is serviced by the Chester-Manchester line. National Rail enquiries telephone 0845 484950.

The Northwich & District Heritage Society presents a programme of talks each year. The programme for the 2009/2010 is being prepared. Details will be added below as they become available.

Our programme leaflet will be published at the beginning of September. Copies will be mailed to all our members. Leaflets will also be available from local libraries and businesses at about that time. The first talk of the season will take place at the beginning of October.

LION SALT WORKS AND THE JABEZ THOMPSON BRICK WORKS. Andrew Fielding will give an update on the situation at the Lion Salt works and his most interesting illustrated lecture on The Jabez Thompson Brick Works.

The Society’s A.G.M. at 7.30 pm is followed at 8 p.m. by NORTHWICH FLOOD. Matt Wheeler will look back to notable floods around the town and explain the contributory factors. The main focus will be on the flood of 1946. Look out for some of Matt's virtual friends who will give us eye-witness accounts of this devastating event.
